Web-Based System for Managing Soldiers with Dietary Restrictions

This UX/UI project addresses a real and pressing issue within the Israeli army: the lack of adequate support for soldiers with dietary limitations. Many soldiers do not receive meals that meet their medical or personal dietary needs, often due to outdated tracking methods and limited awareness within military kitchens.

Our solution is a web-based management interface designed to assist kitchen officers in monitoring and managing dietary restrictions in real time.

The system provides up-to-date data on the number of soldiers present at the base and their specific nutritional needs, allowing kitchen staff to prepare the correct quantity and type of meals for each soldier.

Project goals:

• Increase satisfaction among soldiers with dietary limitations

• Create a centralized, reliable nutritional database for each base

• Ensure real-time accuracy between soldier presence and system data

• Improve kitchen officers’ workflow through a simple and intuitive interface

The process was both challenging and rewarding. Together with my talented teammates, we created a practical, user-friendly system with real impact

As someone who personally experienced food-related limitations and eating disorders during my military service, this project was deeply meaningful to me.

Solving real problems through visual and interactive tools is, in my view, the essence of what a UX/UI designer — and a visual communication designer, is meant to do.
